DESCRIPTION:Ideas for change become action with Grailville's Community Resilience in Action: Swap Shop\, on Saturday\, August 10th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Grailville Retreat and Program Center in Loveland\, OH. \n\n\n\nInspired by the Transition Movement\, people are coming together at Grailville taking local action to increase community resilience in response to global challenges. Working groups are now meeting around local food\, renewable energy/ green building\, and interpersonal relationships/communication. Join us at the next full group gathering on Saturday\, August 10th. for a Summer Swap Shop! Do you have an excess of garden produce? Clothes you are ready to pass along? A good book looking for a new home? A few little jars of some homemade laundry detergent\, or your special pesto sauce? Whatever you have that you would like to share with others\, bring it along for a fun-filled morning of giving and receiving and community building. Swap Shop guidelines: Please refrain from bringing clothing. Bring items that are clean and nice and usable for the best swapping experience. If you don't find swappers for your things\, you will need to take them back home :-) Wear clothes suitable for painting in for the reclamation project as we will be breathing\n\nnew life into old furniture with paint! *Weather Permitting\n\n\n\nMaking butter\, meeting new neighbors\, making solar night lights\, practicing our communication skills- these are a few highlights from past Community Resilience Days. These half day gatherings focus on learning something new\, deepening relationships and having a good time! Inspiring\, hands-on and family friendly\, participation is open to everyone on a donation basis. \n\n\n\nThis series will be led by Bonnie Hendricks\, who is passionate about decreasing Grailville's ecological footprint while increasing Grailville's contribution to the sustainability of the region. A member of the Grail\, Bonnie moved from California to Grailville in 2003 to work for the national Grail movement before settling into her current role in 2011. She ferments whatever will hold still. She has a Master's of Divinity and a background in community organizing.\n\n\n\nCommunity Resilience in Action will be held on Saturday\, August 10th\, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm\, at Grailville Retreat & Program Center at 932 O'Bannonville Road\, Loveland OH.
