FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Do you remember when the Post Office and the Sohio Station operated at the corner of The “Dairy Whip Drive-In” as Mrs. Brennan (the original owner) put it, opened Teresa Morgan (current owner) got her start at age 11 by bagging hamburgers for her parents, Marian & Jim Flint, which owned the Dairy Whip from1972 through 1986. The Dairy Whip no longer serves food as the “Fifth Wheel Hamburgers “ which was popular in the 70s when the Flints owned it, however, it is still known for its creamy soft serve ice cream. The Dairy Whip uses a quality soft serve mix from Trauth Dairy. Soft serve desserts are made fresh before your eyes. While offering the usual vanilla, chocolate and twist cones (with eyes for kids) which can be topped with sprinkles or chocolate/cherry/butterscotch dip top, as well as banana boats and sundaes. The specialties are Parfay’s and Cyclones with a variety of candy toppings. The This year the Apple Carmel Delight Parfay (Vanilla soft serve, warm Apple and Caramel toppings, whip cream, nuts and a cherry on top!) has been added to the menu. They are also adding a third soft serve machine. Rick says “We have needed one for a while now and hopes it will enable the Drive Thru window to operate more efficiently.” There are also future plans to expand and upgrade the picnic areas and parking lot. In honor of Jim Flint which passed this year of lung cancer, Teresa and Rick would like to find those customers and employees that remember when the “Dairy Whip Drive-In” first opened in 1955. Rick is looking for pictures and stories of those days so that history is not lost. Please look up Rick at the Dairy Whip, via email, or on Facebook.
