You’re probably aware that a person’s speaking style, along with the content of what theysay, greatly influences the way their message comes across to others. But did you know thatyour speaking voice is something that can easily be adapted, in order give your ideas more“weight” and added credibility? Join us for an interactive workshop with a professional voicecoach and expert on the topic of vocal image. You’ll learn professional secrets for highlightingthe most important content, and for adjusting the style of your spoken communication in order to gain more influence with your clients, boss, or potential employers.

 

Presenter:  Rocco Dal Vera, a Professor of Theatre at the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, co-author of "Voice: Onstage and Off," a textbook in use by over 300 colleges and universities.  His credits include work as both a voice coach on numberous stage productions and a voice-over talent on more than 500 commercials, television shows, and movies.  In addition to working with actors, he has worked extensively as a coach and trainer in corporate environments.

 

You will learn:

- How to shape others' perception of you by making simple adjustments to your voice

- How to minimize gender bias and give your words more authority

- The difference between voice projection and simply "talking loudly"

- How to increase the overall appeal of your voice

- The importance of vocal pitch and intonation in carrying the meaning of your words

- How to ensure that the image projected by your voice and your body language is consistent
