LMA is excited to announce that we will be part of the citywide "Play Me I’m
Yours" event taking place on August 14th throughout the entire city and
suburbs of Cincinnati! An English artist, Luke Jerram, has collected
pianos, painted them (cool and artistic, not just a paint job!), and LMA was
invited to host on of the instruments. The installation will be Friday,
August 6th, and the piano will remain outside of our front door, affixed to
the support column of the building, for 3 weeks, open to the public to be
played at any time. But the BIG event will be the StudentPalooza on
Saturday, August 14th. We will be signing up students to play, either
alone, duets, or accompanying vocalists, guitarist, or other
instruments--there will be press, photographers, etc., and of course,
performances will be videotaped to play on our website as well as the "PMIY"
site. It is open to the public, and anyone who wants to play is welcome to
drop by and do so, but we will also have sign-ups for those that need to
play within a certain time frame.
This celebration is in honor of the anniversary of Public Radio, so WGUC,
WVXU, etc. will be broadcasting information about the event as well.
Please join us in making this a HUGE success for LMA, "PMIY" and the city of
Loveland--even if you aren’t playing, come by, enjoy the music, and visit
local businesses helping to support this event.
